The daughter of our young family has begun to experience supernatural occurrences, and is having a tough time settling in to her new surroundings. Mom & dad attempt to comfort her.

The mid-day sun welcomes us home.
Cool blue water flows from the calming lake.
Country air blows across the land.
Towering trees stand through the horizon, surrounding the house.
What a nice house! Each anticipated step takes me higher…
Higher and higher…Higher and higher!
It’s everything we’ve ever wanted!

Another box unpacked as the days go by.
No way to fill the space, such a change of pace.
I’m so used to the subway trains and the motor cars
…the clubs and the bars, and seeing no stars.
It’s quiet here…so quiet here.

But at night the darkness is creeping in, and I see orbs of light
Causing me…causing me sleepless nights.

Mom and dad don’t seem to be aware
...of the sudden chill lingering in the air.
There is something here, lurking in the deep.
I try to close my eyes, but I cannot seem to fall asleep.
